I coniugi Maitland, Adam e Barbara, rimangono vittima di un brutale incidente d'auto. Si ritrovano nella loro villa scoprendo cose bizzarre: sono capaci di fare azioni e gesti sovrannaturali, nessuno è in grado di vederli, se provano ad uscire dalla casa finiscono in un deserto e spaventoso luogo (si capirà che è Saturno) abitato dai mostruosi Vermi delle Sabbie e scoprono un libretto chiamato "Il Manuale del Novello Deceduto", comprendendo di essere diventati dei fantasmi.............
Adam and Barbara are a normal couple...who happen to be dead. They have given their precious time to decorate the house and make it their own, but unfortunately a family is moving in, and not quietly. Adam and Barbara try to scare them out, but ends up becoming the main attraction to the money making family. They call upon Beetlejuice to help, but Beetlejuice has more in mind than just helping...........
