Questo album fu il primo tentativo di Sinatra di scendere a patti con la musica pop. Nelle canzoni ritroverete un kit di batteria, cori e tastiere.
La title track è stato il primo di almeno quattro tentativi di imitare il successo discografico di Dean Martin, # 1 nelle hit dell'epoca con "Everybody Loves Somebody", con un ritmo di guida, corde pesanti e brani corali ancestrali.
Sinatra chiese all' arrangiatore Ernie Freeman e al produttore Jimmy Bowen di incorporare nelle composizioni lo stesso suono e timbro di canzoni. Il successo fu grande anche per lui.
La canzone Emily fu usata come trama per il film The Americation Of Emily, Pass Me By come trama del film Father Goose e Dear Heart come trama dello stesso film che da nome al titolo.
