Nel quartiere londinese di Notting Hill, William Thacker è il proprietario di una modesta libreria, specializzata in libri di viaggio. Will è divorziato e abita con un coinquilino di nome
Spike, un eccentrico pittore gallese.
Il protagonista incontra Anna Scott, una star del cinema che si trova nella capitale inglese per promuovere un film, quando lei entra nel suo negozio. Poco dopo, urtandosi casualmente per
strada, Will rovescia del succo d'arancia su di sé e sulla t-shirt dell'attrice; il ragazzo la invita a entrare nella sua vicina abitazione per ripulirsi e Anna accetta. La ragazza si
cambia e William cerca di essere gentile con lei, che tuttavia rifiuta le sue offerte ed esce. Anna però suona di nuovo il campanello, avendo dimenticato una busta nella casa di Thacker;
quando sono faccia a faccia di fronte alla porta di casa, Anna improvvisamente lo bacia. L'arrivo di Spike li interrompe bruscamente e l'attrice se ne va, chiedendo riservatezza per quanto
avvenuto............
Storyline
Every man's dream comes true for William Thacker, an unsuccessful Notting Hill bookstore owner, when Anna Scott, the world's most beautiful woman and best-liked actress, enters his shop. A
little later, he still can't believe it himself, William runs into her again - this time spilling orange juice over her. Anna accepts his offer to change in his nearby apartment, and thanks
him with a kiss, which seems to surprise her even more than him. Eventually, Anna and William get to know each other better over the months, but being together with the world's most wanted
woman is not easy - neither around your closest friends, nor in front of the all-devouring press.................
