Gary Moore (nato il 4 aprile 1952 con il nome di Robert William Gary Moore a Belfast, Irlanda del Nord è sicuramente uno dei migliori chitarristi e musicisti irlandesi. La sua carriera, cominciata negli anni sessanta, lo ha portato a suonare con band del calibro dei Thin Lizzy, collaborare con Jack Bruce e Ginger Baker (Cream), Greg Lake, Cozy Powell, George Harrison, i bluesman B.B. King, Albert King e Albert Collins, e, infine, a raggiungere il successo solista. Tuttora attivo, Gary Moore, fin dal suo debutto solista nel 1973, ha alternato fasi di popolarità a periodi di minor successo, tuttavia sempre tentando di esplorare nuovi territori, dal metal (è stato infatti uno dei più tecnici e veloci guitar heroes) all\'elettronica.
Le sue influenze musicali sono dovute agli artisti e alle band blues-rock inglesi ed americane degli anni \'60, tra cui Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Ten Years After e Fleetwood Mac. La sua produzione musicale spazia dall\'heavy metal, che caratterizza la sua musica durante anni ottanta e in particolare l\'album Victims of the Future (1983), all\'hard rock, fino al blues più puro, al quale si riavvicina all\'inizio degli anni novanta con il famosissimo album Still Got The Blues (1990), che contiene la hit omonima.
