RECENSIONE

Gli anni ottanta non ci hanno regalato solo delle improbabili cotonature, delle giacche con delle imbarazzanti spalline giganti, dei "classici della musica" come I Like Chopin dei Gazebo e le ipertofiche ghiandole mammarie di Samantha Fox o Tinì Cansino e le altre ragazze fast-food del Drive In. In mezzo a tanto trashume degno di essere nascosto in un pozzo scavato nel deserto del Nevada insieme ai Jeans e ai camperos di El Charro, gli anni in cui Milano era ancora da bere, ci hanno donato una stagione di cinema irripetibile in cui degli autori, che magari poi per un motivo o per l'altro si sono un po' persi per strada, ci hanno confezionato delle chicche entrate di diritto nei cuori degli appassionati. Film che nonostante gli innumerevoli passaggi sulle televisioni generaliste o a pagamento, le ripetute visioni in vhs, magari registrate dalla tv, possiedono quel magnetismo particolare che rende impossibile distogliere l'attenzione e si lasciano guardare sempre con piacere per la decima, o la ventiduesima volta. Fra i più noti fautori di tali magie, c'è di sicuro John Landis, filmaker che negli ultimi 20 anni non è mai riuscito a ritrovare quella perfetta alchimia d'elementi propria di alcune sue pellicole realizzate, appunto, a cavallo della decade di cui sopra.
Blues Brothers, Una Poltrona per due, Tutto in una notte, Spie come noi e il "qui presente" Un Lupo Mannaro Americano a Londra rappresentano uno sfavillante esempio di quell'estro creativo che negli anni ottanta permetteva a registi come Landis, Joe Dante, Richard Donner o il recentemente scomparso John Hughes, di trasformare in oro tutto quello che toccavano (aiutati, molto spesso, da quei geniacci della premiata ditta Lucas/Spielberg).
Un Lupo Mannaro Americano a Londra, uscito nel lontano 1981, ha attraversato la solita trafila di edizioni home video più o meno scadenti, fino all'uscita, 4 anni fa circa, di una special edition in dvd di buona fattura ad opera di Universal.
Ora che l'alta definizione si sta affermando sempre di più, la Major ha fatto cosa buona e giusta proponendo il film anche in Blu Ray.
State attenti alle notti di luna piena se vi trovate nella brughiera inglese. (Andrea Badeschi)
