TRAMA

Soffrendo di una cotta per Mary Jensen (Cameron Diaz) sin dai tempi del liceo, lo "sfigato" e ansioso Ted Stroehmann (Ben Stiller) decide, 13 anni dopo, che deve assolutamente ritrovarla; ingaggia cos? uno squallido investigatore privato (Matt Dillon) che si innamora a sua volta di lei. RECENSIONE

Una commedia romantica, dissacrante ed irriverente.
Diretto dai fratelli Peter e Bobby Farrelly, tanto per intenderci quelli di "Scemo e pi? scemo", che non hanno abbandonato il loro esprimersi in maniera demenziale e divertente. Ci si innamora del sorriso della bellissima Cameron Diaz ("Il matrimonio del mio migliore amico", e non si pu? fare a meno di divertirsi per le esilaranti battute, e per le scene divertenti e un po' ciniche, ma mai cattive.
Ted Stroehmann (Ben Stiller ha diretto "Il rompiscatole) e Mary Jensen (Cameron Diaz) si conoscono dai tempi del liceo a Rhode Island, lui ? molto innamorato di lei, che lo invita al ballo, ma non riesce a fare buona figura e le loro strade si dividono. Dopo anni Ted non ha ancora dimenticato Mary e decide di cercarla perch? la ritiene la sua anima gemella. Si affida perci? ad un detective Pat Healy (Matt Dillon "Sex crimes" e "In & Out" che per? si innamora a sua volta di Mary, e su di lei racconter? un sacco di bugie a Ted per fargliela dimenticare.
Ted per? scopre tutto ed intraprende con Pat una esilarante lotta, senza esclusione di colpi, per conquistare il cuore della dolcissima Mary.
Il film ha vinto 4 "MTV Movie Awards" come miglior film, miglior attrice, miglior cattivo a Matt Dillon e migliore zuffa quella tra Ben Stiller e il cane Puffy.
