I Nanowar of Steel sono un gruppo di Heavy Metal demenziale formatosi a Roma agli inizi del 2003. Ripropongono cover di brani classici del genere heavy metal modificandone i testi per trasformarli in parodia e propongono anche una serie di pezzi propri caratterizzati da testi demenziali e da un suono che riprende riccamente il Power metal e l'Heavy Metal anni '80. Analogamente parodistici sono il look e l'atteggiamento generale del gruppo; il nome stesso Nanowar è una distorsione del più noto Manowar.
Il nome del gruppo ha recentemente subito un cambiamento: da Nanowar sono passati a Nanowar of Steel, ulteriore canzonatura nei confronti dei Rhapsody, che hanno cambiato il loro nome in Rhapsody of Fire.
Fra i pezzi più noti dei Nanowar si possono citare Master of Pizza (parodia di Master of Puppets dei Metallica), Emerald Fork (Emerald Sword dei Rhapsody of Fire) e The Number of the Bitch (The Number of the Beast degli Iron Maiden).
Il gruppo è noto a livello internazionale, soprattutto grazie a un fenomeno di passaparola su Internet.

The Nanowar of Steel are a group of Heavy Metal trained in Rome in early 2003. Reproduce covers of classic songs of heavy metal by changing the lyrics to turn it into parody, and also offer a series of pieces characterized by their idiotic lyrics and a sound that takes the richly Power Metal and Heavy Metal 80. Similarly parody are the look and the general attitude of the group; Nanowar the name is a distortion of the more famous Manowar.
The group's name has recently undergone a change: switched to Nanowar of Steel, a further mockery against Rhapsody, which have changed their name to Rhapsody of Fire.
Among the most famous pieces of Nanowar mention may be made Master of Pizza (a parody of Metallica Master of Puppets), Emerald Fork (Emerald Sword Rhapsody of Fire) and The Number Of The Bitch (The Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden).
