[ITA] Nelle prime ore del mattino del 17 Giugno 1943, un aereo della RAF atterra in segreto nella Francia occupata dai nazisti, a bordo c’è Noor Inayat Khan una giovane principessa proveniente da una nobile famiglia indiana che è anche una spia inglese, il suo nome in codice è “Madeleine”.
La sua missione tra le fila del Women's Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF) verrà poi descritta come “l’incarico più importante e pericoloso in Francia”.
Primo operatore radio di sesso femminile ad essere inviato nella Francia occupata Noor, grazie alla sua abilità come radio telegrafista, metterà a rischio la sua vita per fare da collegamento tra Parigi e Londra, ed aiutare così la Resistenza francese.
Riuscirà a trasmettere rimanendo nascosta fino all’Ottobre 1943, quando verrà arrestata dai tedeschi. Morirà il 13 Settembre del 1944, giustiziata insieme ad altre quattro donne nel campo di concentramento di Dachau.
In onore al suo coraggio verrà insignita con la Croix de Guerre francese, e nel 1949 sarà una delle sole tre donne che durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale riceveranno la prestigiosa George Cross, la massima onorificenza britannica per chi ha combattuto comunque, anche se non sui campi di battaglia.
