Katherine Jenkins nasce il 29 giugno 1980 a Neath, West Glamorgan, Galles.
Incomincia la carriera musicale giovanissima, studiando il piano e cantando nel coro locale. Nel 1990 entra a far parte della Royal School of Church Music Cathedral Singers e nel coro nazionale giovanile del Galles. A diciassette anni viene accettata alla Royal Academy of Music di Londra, dove studia l’opera. Intraprende anche la carriera di modella, vincendo un concorso nazionale. Nel 2004 debutta con PREMIERE, che immediatamente arriva in testa alle classifiche, inspirando anche il secondo lavoro, SECOND NATURE. Altro grande successo è il terzo lavoro, LIVING A DREAM, che contiene anche il classico “I will always love you”, brano di Dolly Parton. A questo segue SERENADE (2006), altro disco accolto molto bene, tanto da vendere cinquantamila copie in una sola settimana; REJOCE, il quinto album, viene invece pubblicato nel 2007, mentre l’anno successivo è la volta di SACRED ARIAS.
Nel febbraio 2010 è uscito BELIEVE.
Con la sua bellezza avrebbe potuto concorrere a Miss Universo ed invece è una delle soprano più amate e premiate. Anche l’Italia ha finalmente potuto conoscere Katherine Jenkins, cantante lirica gallese che ha fatto innamorare il bel paese oltre che per il suo aspetto, da fare invidia ad una modella affermata, per la sua straordinaria voce, grazie al programma Mediaset, Io Canto, condotto da Gerry Scotti, dove la cantante ha duettato con il piccolo tenore Mattia Rossi in una bellissima interpretazione di Time to say goodbye (versione inglese del brano Con te partirò di Andrea Bocelli)
