Batman of the Future (Batman Beyond) è una serie televisiva a cartoni animati creata dalla Warner Bros. Television come una continuazione della leggenda di Batman. Fa parte della continuity dell\'universo animato DC Comics creato da Paul Dini e Bruce Timm.
Fu trasmessa in America dal 1999 al 2002 e diede vita a un film realizzato per l\'home video e alla serie derivata The Zeta Project, ancora inedito in Italia. In italiano la serie è stata trasmessa da Italia 1, Cartoon Network e dal digitale terrestre Boing.
La serie è ambientata approssimativamente 40 anni dopo la fine di Batman, cavaliere della notte e vede Bruce Wayne ritiratosi a vita privata e non più a capo della sua azienda, diretta dal losco Derek Powers. L\'ex difensore di Gotham si era infatti ritirato dalla lotta al crimine durante un\'azione per liberare una donna presa in ostaggio, allorquando puntò una pistola contro uno dei rapitori. Vergognatosi del proprio comportamento decise che non avrebbe mai più indossato i panni di Batman.
Vent\'anni dopo il destino fa incontrare lo studente ribelle Terry McGinnis (figlio di Warren McGinnis, dipendente della Wayne Tech), e l\'anziano miliardario, che lo salva da una banda di Jokers (teppisti che idolatrano l\'arcinemico Joker). Grazie al ragazzo Wayne scopre che Powers sta vendendo un potente gas nervino a potenti di altri paesi e che il padre del ragazzo lo aveva scoperto pagando con la vita.
Il ragazzo, desideroso di vendetta e infastidito dal rifiuto di Wayne di aiutarlo, gli ruba la tuta che Wayne indossò nel suo ultimo combattimento e la usa per sventare i piani di Powers. La notte dopo l\'aereo col gas viene dirottato, e Wayne fa visita a Terry in casa sua, chiedendogli di sbrigare delle commissioni per lui.
Da allora il ragazzo diventa il nuovo protettore di Gotham e, seppur con notevole difficoltà, riuscirà a farsi aiutare e accettare da Barbara Gordon, che ha preso il posto del padre nella polizia di Gotham in qualità di commissario.

05. Hidden Agenda
Max becomes the target of vicious pranks when she beats the leader of a Jokerz gang on a school test (the GATs.) She decides to change the program that she was using to search for Batman\'s secret identity to search for Joker secret identities. When Terry\'s name shows up on the list, Max finds out about one of his little \"secrets.\"

Chelsea, Dana and a few friends hold a séance to summon the ghost of a student who died at the school. Much to their surprise, it seems like they\'re successful, as an invisible force starts tearing up the school.

Chaos grips Gotham, as Shriek sends disrupting soundwaves throughout the city, warping speech and sending animals into rabid frenzies.
13. Terry\'s Friend Dates a Robot
Terry\'s unpopular friend sees a way out his social problems when he\'s offered an illegal synthoid girlfriend. Trouble is, she\'s just a bit too devoted.
