Introducing... The Beatles is the first Beatles album in the United States. Originally scheduled
for a July 1963 release, the LP finally came out on 10 January 1964, mere days before Capitol's
Meet the Beatles. It was the subject of much legal wrangling, but ultimately, Vee-Jay Records
was permitted to sell the album until the fall of 1964, by which time it had sold more than 1.3
million copies.
Many people prefer Dr. Ebbetts versions of these albums rather than a regular cd. There are other
high quality copies that have been officially released but Dr. Ebbetts has spent considerable
time transferring vinyl copies to produce high quality versions of the Beatles albums as well as
other groups.
Reviewer's explanation of Dr. Ebbets copies-
"OK, time for another boring edition of Beatles Bootleg Reviews! This time, we'll look at a
series that many believe puts the official EMI/Apple CDs to shame, given to us by the man known
only as... Dr. Ebbetts.
The doctors bootleg CDs are basically what you heard on the original US and UK LPs, for better
or worse. They are not 'remasters' (such as the circulating 24-bit remasters) nor remixes (good
for Legs). They seem straight transfers of either excellent early vinyl editions of these
albums, or possibly (as I've heard) the cassettes or 8-tracks, which I'm not sure I believe.
Now, in theory, since vinyl albums almost always sound better than CDs, then these discs should
be superb, right? Well...sometimes. The problem is, especially with the Capitol versions, what
you got on record wasn't great quality to begin with."
NOTES:
These are the original files as they were uploaded to Demonoid. There are no cue files or log
files but the tracks have been verified with Audacity. I have the complete Dr. Ebbets copies for
the Beatles and I will upload them one album a day. |
