Pink Floyd Live 1970: KQED Studios Professionally filmed in the studios of KQED in 1970, this is an hour show with multiple cameras capturing this classic-era Floyd close-up and personal. Entitled "An Hour With Pink Floyd", the quality is outstanding! Particularly touching is the part where we see Dave and Roger sitting inches apart, both strumming acoustic guitars during Grantchester Meadows - and seemingly enjoying the music they're making together! Imagine that. For the diehard 70s-era Floyd fan, this performance is a tear-jerker... to relive what the band once was, and witness them together as friends and performers. Not something to miss, that's for sure!
This DVD is a combination of 2 sources. A VHS tape recorded directly from the rebroadcast was used for the video, while the audio was sourced from a 3/4" station master. Both video and audio have been cleaned up and remastered for this release.

Un ottimo concerto dei Pink Floyd degli anni 70 registrato negli studi della televisione KQED di San Francisco il 29 Aprile 1970. Trasmesso in televisione pochi giorni dopo e ritrasmesso negli anni 80. La grafica e le inquadrature "psichedeliche" risentono di quell'aria lisergica particolare di quegli anni. La musica e' invece come sempre monumentale come lo erano i Pink Floyd di quegli anni, vedasi il loro live At Pompei, che viene ripercorso in questa esibizione per "pochi intimi". Un ottimo documento storico di una band che ha fatto la storia della musica, catturato durante i loro anni piu' sperimentali e meno noti al grande pubblico attuale.
Il DVD di sorgente e' composto da un VHS registrato direttamente dalla KQED quando fu ritrasmesso, mentre l'audio da un master station di 3/4". Sia il video che l'audio sono stati puliti e rimasterizzati per la creazione di questo DVD.

Pink Floyd are an English rock band that initially earned recognition for their psychedelic rock music, and, as they evolved, for their progressive rock music. They are known for philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, innovative cover art, and elaborate live shows. One of rock music's most successful acts, the group have sold over 200 million albums worldwide including 74.5 million albums in the United States alone.
Pink Floyd had moderate mainstream success and were one of the most popular bands in the London underground music scene in the late 1960s as a psychedelic band led by Syd Barrett; however, Barrett's erratic behaviour eventually forced his colleagues to replace him with guitarist and singer David Gilmour. After Barrett's departure, singer and bass player Roger Waters gradually became the dominant and driving force in the mid-1970s, until his eventual departure from the group in 1985. The band recorded several albums, achieving worldwide success with The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977), and The Wall (1979). In 1985, Waters declared Pink Floyd defunct, but although the remaining members, led by Gilmour, were sued by Waters for rights to the name, they continued recording and touring as Pink Floyd and enjoyed commercial success with A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987) and The Division Bell (1994), eventually reaching a settlement with Waters over the use of the name.

I Pink Floyd sono una rockband inglese formatasi verso la fine degli anni sessanta che, nel corso di una lunga e travagliata carriera, è riuscita a riscrivere le tendenze musicali della propria epoca e diventare uno dei gruppi più importanti della storia del rock.
Impegnati in un primo periodo in un'assidua ricerca di sonorità psichedeliche e sperimentazioni elettroniche (ne è massimo esempio The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, edito nel 1967), raggiunsero in seguito il successo mondiale grazie a hit-single quali Wish You Were Here e Money, e concept-album quali The Dark Side of the Moon e The Wall. Sono anche considerati tra i più grandi artisti di rock progressivo di sempre assieme agli Yes, King Crimson, Emerson, Lake and Palmer e Genesis.
Il gruppo è nato a Cambridge nel 1965 al politecnico di architettura, ed i suoi componenti sono i seguenti:

Source was interlacted and of poor quality, the remastered DVD came from a VHS. The script is really light. The resolution is the best similar to the original, obtained after cropping the edge of VHS and leaving the edge of the external recording. Dimension was choosen to be a standard ones that permits to obtain the best quality from the above script.
Il source era interlacciato e molto scarno, infatti la remasterizzazione proviene da un VHS. Per tal motivo si e' cercato di rendere il piu' possibile leggero lo script. Data la durata particolare del filmato si e' scelta una risoluzione il piu' possibile conforme all'originale tagliando i bordi rovinati del vhs ma lasciando i bordi delle immagini esterne.
La dimensione del rip e' infine stata scelta in modo da permettere un dimensione standard ma con tutte le migliori qualita' ottenibili dal rip.
