La montagna del dio cannibale uscì nelle sale italiane il 10 agosto 1978. Lo stesso anno fu distribuito nella maggior parte dei paesi europei. Venne, in seguito, esportato in Estremo Oriente e negli Stati Uniti d'America. È conosciuto col titolo internazionale Slave of the Cannibal God.
The Mountain of the Cannibal God was released in Italian cinemas on 10 August 1978. The same year it was distributed in most European countries. It was later exported to the Far East and the United States of America. He is known by the international title Slave of the Cannibal God.

Susan organizza, insieme al fratello Arthur e alla guida Edward, una spedizione segreta in un'isola papuana per scoprire che fine abbia fatto suo marito, Harry Stevenson. Susan Stevenson and her brother Arthur get off a plane in Papua New Guinea, looking for her missing husband. They team up with Dr. Edward Foster.
