The Flash, film diretto da Andy Muschietti, vede Barry Allen aka The Flash (Ezra Miller), il supereroe della DC Comics dotato di una velocità supersonica, usare i suoi poteri per viaggiare nel tempo e tornare indietro, deciso a cambiare il passato. Il motivo dietro questa mossa azzardata è quello di salvare sua madre, ma la sua presenza nel passato cambia di conseguenza il futuro.
È così che Barry si ritrova intrappolato in una realtà dove si trova il generale Zod (Michael Shannon). Quest'ultimo è tornato per distruggere il pianeta e Barry capisce da subito vi aver alterato talmente tanto il tempo e l'universo che non si vedono supereroi all'orizzonte, che potrebbero aiutarlo a fermare Zod. Con sua grande sorpresa, però, si imbatte in Batman (Michael Keaton), seppur completamente diverso da quello che conosce lui. Barry dovrà convincere l'Uomo Pipistrello a tornare in battaglia per portare in salvo un kryptoniano imprigionato. Inoltre, per salvare il mondo e ripristinare il vecchio futuro, a Barry non resta altro che correre, ma sarà sufficiente a resettare l'universo?
