Creed III, film diretto da Michael B. Jordan, è il terzo capitolo su Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan), figlio di Apollo Creed, ex avversario e amico di Rocky Balboa, morto a seguito di un match con Ivan Drago. Adonis, chiamato Donnie, ha seguito le orme paterne, allenato da Rocky. Grazie ai duri allenamenti è riuscito a vendicare il genitore sul ring, dove ha sconfitto Viktor Drago, figlio di Ivan.
Divenuto ormai una star della boxe, la vita di Donnie è coronata di successi, anche nella sfera privata, infatti ha una relazione con la bella Bianca (Tessa Thompson), con cui ha avuto nel frattempo anche una figlia. La maturità acquisita sul ring farà sì che il giovane non abbia più bisogno del supporto di Rocky, ma che inizi a scalare le vette della sua futura carriera in solitaria.
Quando un suo ex amico d'infanzia, Damian Anderson (Jonathan Majors) esce di prigione, dopo aver scontato una lunga condanna, Donnie si ritrova faccia a faccia sul ring con lui. Damian non vede l'ora di tornare a combattere e soprattutto di riconquistare il valore perduto nel mondo della boxe. Per combattere contro Damian, però, Donnie deve mettere in gioco anche il suo futuro e quello che ha costruito finora, perché dall'altra parte del ring c'è un avversario che non ha nulla da perdere.
