Presentato in Italia nel 1990 alla rassegna Fantafestival di Roma, ottenendo consenso di critica e di pubblico, il film è stato trasmesso da Rai Tre nell'inverno del 1991. Il film ha circolato nelle sale americane solo dal 1993.
Il regista ha commentato il proprio film come "realistic", una satira feroce su una classe a detta sua abulica, "di zombies", stupendosi come mai nessuno abbia avuto la stessa idea prima di lui.

Il giovane e brillante Bill Whitney dovrebbe considerarsi fortunato, vivendo con i genitori e la sorella Jenny in una splendida villa immersa nel verde a Beverly Hills, eppure è afflitto da un forte senso di inquietudine che lo porta a temere dei suoi familiari dubitando della loro vera natura.
Bill is worried that he is 'different' to his sister and parents. They mix with other 'upper class' people while Bill is more down to earth. Even his girlfriend seems a bit odd. All is revealed when Bill returns home to find a party in full swing.
