Angela Rance, madre e moglie modello, si divide tra lavoro e famiglia. Con lei, le sue due figlie Katherine e Casey. La prima, taciturna e ribelle, sta passando un periodo problematico a causa di un grave incidente. La seconda, giovane, affascinante e taciturna, sembra vivere la classica vita di un normale adolescente americano.

A sconvolgere la vita della donna, l'ipotesi che nella sua casa si nasconda qualcosa di strano e di sovrannaturale, fuori da ogni logica razionale. Si rivolge così al prete della sua parrocchia, Padre Tomas, convinta che il demonio che alberga nella sua abitazione stia pian piano prendendo il sopravvento sulle sue figlie.

Assieme all'aiuto del noto esorcista Padre Marcus, dovranno fare tutto il possibile per salvare la vita delle due ragazze.
