Dove la terra trema è un film originale Netflix diretto da Wash Westmoreland che vede protagonista una giovane donna problematica, espatriata in Giappone, che viene accusata dell’omicidio di un’amica quando questa scompare in circostanze del tutto misteriose. E’ il 1989. Lucy Fly (Alicia Vikander) è una ragazza di origini svedesi, trasferitasi a Tokyo per allontanarsi da quello che sembra essere un oscuro e tormentato passato. Qui fa la conoscenza dell’enigmatico fotografo Teiji Matsuda (Naoki Kobayashi), un uomo molto affascinante che instaura con Lucy un legame molto intenso, in cui il confine tra amore e ossessione è incredibilmente sottile. Un giorno, Lucy stringe amicizia con la bella americana Lily Bridges (Riley Keough), che col passare del tempo finisce con il mettersi in mezzo al rapporto tra la protagonista e Teiji. Con il suo arrivo, infatti, la loro relazione prende le sembianze di un triangolo amoroso, di cui però Lucy non è affatto entusiasta. Per questo motivo, quando Lily sparisce improvvisamente, Lucy è la prima ad essere indagata...
