Dogtooth, film diretto da Yorgos Lanthimos, racconta la storia di tre adolescenti (Aggeliki Papoulia, Christos Passalis, Mary Tsoni), tre figli che vivono in una casa, isolata nella campagna, con i loro genitori. L'abitazione in cui sono cresciuti è circondata da un alto muro, che li separa dal resto del mondo, che i tre non hanno mai vissuto. I loro genitori sono iperprotettivi e apprensivi a tal punto da non farli uscire fuori di casa ed educarli loro stessi. È così che i tre hanno trascorso per anni le loro giornate ascoltando nastri homemade per imparare nuovi vocaboli, ritrovandosi ad affibbiare significati errati a parole nuove, tanto che per loro "mare" è una poltrona e "zombie" dei fiori gialli. Il padre (Christos Stergioglou), un patriarca più simile a un despota, e la madre (Michele Valley), sottomessa al marito, hanno inventato l'esistenza di un quarto figlio, messo al bando per aver disobbedito alle regole, e hanno convinto i tre fratelli che potranno abbandonare la casa solo quando il loro canino sarà caduto.
L'unica persona che ha accesso dal mondo esterno è Christina (Anna Kalaitzidou), agente di sicurezza nell'azienda paterna, assunta per soddisfare sessualmente il figlio maschio. Sarà quest'elemento esterno, che inizialmente tutti sembrano adorare, a rompere il fragile equilibrio instaurato da anni da due genitori e le conseguenze saranno disastrose.
