Woody, Buzz e gli altri vivono sereni con Bonnie, anche se la bambina non ama Woody come lo amava Andy e lo lascia spesso nell'armadio. Woody però rimane ricco di premure verso di lei e, quando Bonnie affronta il primo giorno d'asilo, si infila nel suo zaino per farle compagnia. Finisce così per contribuire alla creazione di Forky, un giocattolo costruito dalla bambina con una forchetta/cucchiaio che però crede di essere spazzatura e vuole solo buttarsi via. Woody cerca di fargli capire l'importanza dell'amore di una bambina, ma non riesce a convincerlo prima che lui salti giù da un camper in corsa. Il cowboy si lancia allora in un'avventura per ritrovarlo, arrivando a conoscere nuovi giocattoli e a ritrovare la sua vecchia fiamma, Bo Peep.
