Ti ritrovi in una stanza, senza finestre, solo una porta, ed è chiusa a chiave. Il pazzo che ti ha rinchiuso ha creato una serie di enigmi diabolicamente intelligenti e difficili che, risolti nell'ordine corretto, porteranno alla chiave e alla tua salvezza. E per aggiungere alla difficoltà, ha impostato un orologio ticchettante, con un'ora per completare gli enigmi e fuggire... o subire le conseguenze. Escape Room, il film diretto da Adam Robitel, è un thriller psicologico che vede protagonisti sei sconosciuti che si ritrovano appunto coinvolti in questo gioco pericoloso e sono costretti ad usare l'ingegno per trovare indizi e salvare la propria vita.
E mentre risolvono gli enigmi di ciascuna delle singole stanze, iniziano a capire che c'è un puzzle più grande da risolvere: il perché hanno scelto di essere lì. A quanto pare, hanno tutti qualcosa in comune.
