La storia racconta .............. di Dian Fossey, ricercatrice che stava effettuando nel Congo belga alcune ricerche sul comportamento dei gorilla fra storie d'amore finite, altre appena iniziate e ostilità degli indigeni. La Fossey viene mandata in Ruanda dalla rivista National Geographic per effettuare un censimento del gorilla di montagna, specie in pericolo di estinzione.
