Trama
Walter Burns, giovane e simpatico direttore di un grande quotidiano, divorzia da sua moglie Hilde che sta per risposarsi con un assicuratore. Tuttavia, con il nuovo matrimonio lei lascerà la rubrica 'La signora del venerdì' che aveva al giornale e alla quale Walter tiene molto. Walter cerca in ogni modo di mandare a monte il matrimonio, finché un assassinio e una movimentata cattura dell'omicida gli tornano utili per il suo piano.
