Siamo al parco, e un uomo si avventa su una ragazza per darle un bacio. Lei si ribella, urla. Il suo fidanzato rimane esterrefatto. L'arrivo delle forze di un gruppo di militari, allontana il molestatore. Kim Ki-Duk ci introduce così, il “Bad guy” Han-Gi e la apparentemente angelica Sun-Hwa. I due si incontreranno tempo dopo in posizioni antitetiche. Lui a gestire un bordello negli “slums” di Seul, lei come prostituta alle prime armi.
