Trama
Jake è un attore che soffre quando si trova in ambienti chiusi; licenziato, abbandona il set. Torna a casa e trova la moglie in compagnia di un altro uomo.
Cerca di rifarsi una vita. Un collega, conosciuto per caso (almeno così sembra), gli presta una magnifica villa da cui, ogni sera, si vede, in una casa di fronte,
una splendida ragazza nuda. Jake, naturalmente, se ne innamora e cerca disperatamente di incontrarla.
Grande appassionato di Hitchcock, De Palma confeziona una storia che rende omaggio al maestro senza cadere nella trappola della sterile imitazione.
