Trama:
Nel 1780, in Transilvania, un emissario dei popoli africani e la moglie Luva sono vittime del vampiro Dracula, che impone all'uomo il nome di Blacula. Due secoli dopo due giovani, recatisi nella regione per acquistare i souvenirs del famoso vampiro (alla cui esistenza però non credono), riportano a Los Angeles la bara di Blacula, ignorandone il contenuto. Uccisi i suoi incauti liberatori (i primi di una lunga serie), Blacula, all'apparenza un impeccabile e un po' austero gentiluomo di colore dall'abbigliamento particolare, si convince di aver ritrovato la moglie Luva in Tina, sorella del medico della polizia dottor Thomas. Pur sapendo chi è, Tina si innamora di lui, mentre lo stesso Thomas e un suo collega poliziotto gli stanno dando la caccia.
Blacula is the story of Manuwalde, an African Prince. This movie presents a modern version of the classic Dracula story in a very chilling and inventive way. In 1780, after visiting Count Dracula, Manuwalde is turned into a vampire and locked in a coffin.. The scene shifts to 1972, when two antique collectors transport the coffin to Los Angeles. The two men open the coffin and unleash Blacula on the city of Los Angeles. Blacula soon finds Tina, who is his wife, Luva, reincarnated, and gains her love. Tina's friend, Dr. Gordon, discovers Blacula is a vampire and hunts him down.
