Nel marzo 2011 il Giappone è stato colpito da un terribile terremoto, uno tsunami incredibile e la fusione della centrale nucleare di Fukushima. Nell’autunno 2011, nonostante i consigli contrari, gli Aerosmith hanno tenuto il loro tour “Back On The Road” in Giappone, un paese con cui la band ha sempre avuto un rapporto speciale. I fans giapponesi sono accorsi e gli Aerosmith hanno risposto con uno dei migliori concerti della loro brillante carriera.

“Rock For The Rising Sun” segue la band in quel tour combinando un live album con le riprese video dei retroscena del tour, a tratti toccanti ed emozionanti e a tratti divertenti e penetranti. Questa release dimostra una storia d’amore tra i fans giapponesi e gli Aerosmith e la loro musica.
