Sarebbe il film poliziesco perfetto, non fosse per un piccolo, insignificante particolare: loro non sono poliziotti. Quando due amici si vestono come agenti di polizia per una festa in costume, non impiegano molto a diventare l'attrazione del vicinato. Purtroppo per loro, questi finti eroi rimarranno invischiati in una fin troppo reale rete di malavitosi e detective corrotti, finendo così per dover mettere in gioco i loro finti distintivi...
