Trama
Una coppia di yuppie divorzia. Separati in casa? La battaglia per la spartizione dell'appartamento è all'ultimo sangue. Commedia nerissima e crudele: benché faccia molto ridere, è maledettamente seria nel raccontare che cosa succede quando l'odio coniugale si trasferisce sul piano del possesso e della difesa del territorio. Fino al termine della prima parte si crede di essere nel bel mezzo di una commedia hollywoodiana, anche se le carte in tavola sono già un po' mischiate, ma ci si accorge ben presto che i due si odiano davvero e il finale non è per nulla consolatorio.
La tendenza all'eccesso e all'agitazione di DeVito, regista e interprete, diventa qui una virtù, capacità di portare le premesse alle ultime conseguenze.
Le migliori interpretazioni della carriera di Douglas e della Turner. Non adatto a chi crede nella famiglia e al lieto fine.
