Tenney occuperebbe una posizione rilevante. Regista di culto degli eighties made in USA (ricordiamo anche Witchboard, 1986), con Night of the Demons realizza un distillato di sangue, sesso, brividi e ironia che pu? ergersi decisamente a simbolo dell?estetica del decennio. Un film divertente e senza pretese, da prendere e gustare cos? com??, debitore degli slasher-movie a base di teenager arrapati ma anche della Casa (1981) di Sam Raimi. La trama ? semplice, e pur sapendo un po? di ?gi? visto? risulta abbastanza coinvolgente. Nella notte di Halloween, cinque ragazzi e cinque ragazze decidono di trascorrere una nottata alternativa all?interno di una vecchia impresa di pompe funebri che si dice sia infestata dai demoni. L?organizzatrice della festa ? un?esperta di occultismo, e decide di fare una seduta spiritica davanti a uno specchio: compare il volto mostruoso di un demone, lo specchio si rompe e le entit? maligne si diffondono per la casa, contagiando man mano tutti gli ospiti, che si trasformano in zombi sanguinari. Night of the Demons (also known as Halloween Party) is a 1988 American supernatural horror film written and produced by Joe Augustyn and directed by Kevin S. Tenney. The film tells the story of ten high school seniors having a Halloween party in an isolated mortuary. Their party turns into a nightmare when after conducting a s?ance as a party game, they unlock the demon that was locked in the crematorium. Filming of Night of the Demons took place in South Central Los Angeles, California, USA, and lasted for two months.
