Trama
Jimmy Doyle "Popeye" ? un poliziotto della squadra narcotici di New York dai metodi brutali e assai poco ortodossi. Messosi in cattiva luce con i suoi superiori, a causa di alcuni fallimenti professionali, Doyle ? convinto di avere finalmente ricevuto la soffiata giusta, quella capace di imprimere una svolta a un'intera carriera. Un infiltrato ? venuto a sapere di una grossa partita di eroina in arrivo dalla Francia. Pur senza mandato, il detective si lancia sulla pista indicatagli, che lo conduce alla mafia italoamericana locale. Con il collega Lo Russo, suo partner professionale fisso, avvier? un'indagine tutta pedinamenti e intercettazioni.
Il braccio Violento della Legge ? stato editato in BluRay, la prima volta nel 2009, sotto la supervisione di William Friedkin. Per il master video, il regista applic? una serie di filtri che ne alterarono completamente il colore provocando l'ira dei fan e del direttore della fotografia. Fortunatamente, nel 2012, esce l'edizione Filmaker's Signature che riporta il film al suo aspetto originale.
La versione proposta in questa release ? quella del 2012 che restituisce i colori e la grana originale della pellicola.
