Trama
Quando una ragazza si lancia in mezzo alla strada, Mike Hammer ? costretto a fermarsi per non investirla. Lei sembra visibilmente impaurita e indossa solo un impermeabile. Mike non esita a darle un passaggio per poi venire a sapere dalla radio che si tratta di un'evasa dal manicomio. Cristina, questo ? il suo nome, ha un atteggiamento rassegnato, tanto da ripetergli pi? volte di ricordarsi di lei in futuro. Assaliti da un gruppo di ignoti criminali che gli fanno sbandare l'auto, i due vengono rapiti. Dopo aver ripreso conoscenza, Mike assiste alla brutale tortura e uccisione della ragazza. Dalla loro i criminali, volendo liberarsi di entrambi, simulano un incidente, spingendo l'auto gi? da un dirupo. Miracolosamente sopravvissuto, Mike esce dal coma dopo tre giorni e decide di vendicarsi. Non c'? niente di meglio che seguire il caso e scoprire cosa c'? dietro.
