:: Trama ::
Un elicottero che reca a bordo un ministro viene abbattuto nella giungla da un gruppo di guerriglieri di un Paese dell'America centrale, desiderosi di catturare ostaggi. Dillon, un agente della CIA, ingaggia il maggiore Dutch Schaefer, un ex-collega, il quale capeggia alcuni professionisti dell'avventura, che con lui eseguono normalmente rischiose operazioni. Dutch accetta e raggiunge con i suoi la zona del sequestro, anche perchè gli preme di recuperare in particolare un amico, Hopper, l'elicotterista abbattuto. Il commando non impiega molto tempo ad eliminare i guerriglieri e a scoprire il corpo di Hooper barbaramente seviziato e squartato. Poi ad uno ad uno cadono i compagni di Dutch, con i volti sfigurati da unghiate terribili: nella giungla sembra aggirarsi un mostro misterioso e inafferrabile. Resta solo Dutch a lottare contro l'orrenda creatura, venuta dagli spazi siderali, un essere imprendibile che, sulle prime, si manifesta come una lievissima nube di scintille fluttuanti fra liane ed alberi, per poi sparire di colpo e annidarsi in vetta a questi ultimi. Inseguita però dal tenacissimo maggiore, alla fine la nube si fa corpo, con le fattezze di un essere ripugnante il quale, impegnata con il Nostro una lotta mortale, finisce con l'autodistruggersi.
