Il compositore/arrangiatore Michel Herr scrive per big band da più di trent'anni e, come conferma questo cofanetto di due dischi della prestigiosa Brussels Jazz Orchestra, è piuttosto bravo in questo. Non tutta la musica fu scritta apposta per l'occasione; in effetti, "Pentaprism", che chiude il Disco 2, è una delle prime composizioni di Herr, incisa a metà degli anni '70 per la ACT Big Band. Un altro dei suoi saggi, "Extremes", è la selezione principale del secondo album degli ACT, mentre la "Celebration Suite" (almeno gran parte) ha debuttato con The September Sessions (De Werf, 1999).
