L'album del 2003 Abracadabra dei Soft Works, ripubblicato dalla Moonjune Records nel 2025, rappresenta l'unica registrazione in studio del quartetto stellare composto da ex membri dei Soft Machine: Allan Holdsworth (chitarra, Synthaxe), Elton Dean (sassofono), Hugh Hopper (basso) e John Marshall (batteria). La band si è evoluta dal quartetto Soft Ware (che originariamente comprendeva Keith Tippett al posto di Holdsworth) e non aveva mai registrato prima con questa formazione.
