In un mondo in cui il jazz continua a frammentarsi in nuovi sottogeneri e ibridi sperimentali, rimane un angolo dedicato ai tradizionalisti, coloro che desiderano il glamour, il fascino e la finezza vocale delle star del cabaret di metà secolo. Se è questo il vostro gusto musicale, allora l'ultimo album di Emma Smith vi sembrerà un caldo invito vellutato a un'epoca passata. Ma non cercate l'innovazione. Questo non è un disco che cerca di reinventare il jazz, ma piuttosto un disco che si assapora il suo passato, interpretato con una tecnica vocale eccezionale e una devozione incrollabile all'età d'oro del genere.
