L'anno è il 2062. La Terra è stata lasciata in rovina dopo il fallimento di un progetto di automazione del lavoro quando l'IA chiamata Artemis ha dichiarato guerra all'umanità. Una ragazza, Empress, si risveglia in un laboratorio di ricerca. Come uno dei tre guardiani sopravvissuti, deve distruggere l'ascensore orbitale prima che Artemis possa completarne la costruzione.
