Da quando sono emersi come luci guida della scena indie rock di fine anni '00 con il debutto del 2007 A Guide to Love, Loss and Desperation, i The Wombats di Liverpool (Matthew "Murph" Murphy, il bassista Tord Øverland Knudsen e il batterista Dan Haggis) hanno mantenuto un incredibile slancio ascendente, accumulando 2,5 miliardi di stream lungo il percorso. Il secondo album elettro-macchiato del 2011 The Modern Glitch li ha resi dei frequentatori abituali della Top Ten; il terzo Glitterbug del 2015 li ha visti abbracciati dalla generazione TikTok anni dopo, con "Greek Tragedy" un successo virale più volte.
