Chester Burton Atkins, detto Chet (Luttrell, 20 giugno 1924 – Nashville, 30 giugno 2001), è stato un chitarrista, compositore e produttore discografico statunitense.
Chitarrista di grande talento, si affermò a livello internazionale grazie allo stile eclettico e alla notevole abilità nella tecnica fingerstyle. Nell'arco della propria carriera, ha pubblicato oltre ottanta album da solista, collaborando con artisti quali The Everly Brothers, Les Paul, Jerry Reed, Mark Knopfler e Tommy Emmanuel, Perry Como, Elvis Presley, Eddy Arnold, Don Gibson, Waylon Jennings e molti altri.
Egli è considerato l'inventore del cosiddetto «Nashville sound», un innovativo stile musicale che rese appetibile il country anche agli amanti del pop e del rock.
