Il libro "La ragazza di neve" è un successo mondiale dello scrittore spagnolo Javier Castillo, autore spagnolo amatissimo e seguitissimo sui social. La storia da un milione e mezzo di copie è logicamente diventata una serie tv Netflix.
Miren, una giovane giornalista si interessa alla scomparsa di una bambina. Un evento che la spinge a indagare con determinazione e impegno fuori dal comune, sconvolta dal caso di cronaca. C’è infatti da correre contro il tempo e l’ignoto per cercare di salvare e riportare a casa la piccola, anche quando le speranze si riducono al minimo.
Se nel libro le vicende sono ambientate a New York nel 1998, quando durante la festa del Ringraziamento un padre perde la figlia di soli 3 anni in mezzo alla folla (di lei si ritroveranno solo i vestiti e delle ciocche di capelli), le vicende della serie tv si spostano a Malaga, città natale di Javier. E la bambina si chiama Amaya invece di Keira.
Il racconto però rimane fedele, con la storia che salta al 2003, al momento in cui i genitori ricevono una misteriosa videocassetta, in cui la bambina è ormai più grande e gioca in una casa delle bambole in una stanza ricca di colori. Il punto in cui Miren, studentessa di giornalismo inizia la sua un’indagine, che corre parallela a quella della polizia, condotta dall’ispettrice Millan.

Curiosità: La ragazza di neve: perché si intitola così?
Il titolo si riferisce proprio all’incertezza e alla speranza, i sentimenti legati all’impermanenza della situazione in cui una bambina volatilizzata assomiglia ai fiocchi di neve che possono solidificarsi oppure scomparire istantaneamente al suolo.
