Fausto e Nadine si incontrano per la prima volta nei saloni di un grande albergo di Parigi, scoprendosi fragili, soli e ossessionati da un’idea di felicità che sembra irraggiungibile. Fausto è italiano ma vive, o per meglio dire sopravvive, a Parigi, nella speranza che un giorno la vita gli offra qualcosa di meglio del lavoro come cameriere. Nadine è una giovane francese e possiede una bellezza commovente. Dopo essersi conosciuti si perderanno, si ameranno e soffriranno. Il destino avrà in serbo non pochi ostacoli per questo giovane amore.
