La sposa cadavere (Corpse Bride) è un film d'animazione del 2005 diretto da Tim Burton e Mike Johnson.
La pellicola è liberamente ispirata alla versione ebraico-russa del XIX secolo di una più antica storia folkloristica ebraica, trasposta in una immaginaria epoca simile all'era vittoriana.
Per il regista Burton è il secondo lungometraggio realizzato con la tecnica dell'animazione stop motion, dopo il precedente Nightmare Before Christmas, che produsse solamente e che fu diretto da Henry Selick.
Il film è stato presentato in anteprima, fuori concorso, alla 62ª Mostra internazionale d'arte cinematografica di Venezia; è stato candidato all'Oscar 2006 come miglior film d'animazione.

La vicenda è ambientata in un villaggio olandese del XIX secolo. Per evitare di cadere in miseria, la famiglia Everglot promette in sposa la figlia Victoria (voce originale Emily Watson) al rampollo della benestante famiglia Van Dort, Victor (voce originale Johnny Depp). Nonostante il loro sia un matrimonio combinato, Victor e Victoria si innamorano e sono lieti di poter giurarsi amore eterno ma, per potersi sposare, il maldestro giovane deve dimostrare di aver imparato perfettamente i voti nuziali. Dopo una sequela di goffi incidenti che indispettiscono la futura suocera, Victor cerca di memorizzare le formule nuziali, mentre cammina assorto per la foresta. Qui, suggellando i voti con l’anello nuziale, Victor non si rende conto di aver risvegliato il cadavere di una giovane donna vestita da sposa. Trascinato nell'oltretomba, Victor scopre la triste storia della Sposa Cadavere, Emily (voce originale Helena Bonham Carter), che il ragazzo ha risvegliato involontariamente dal limbo. Per tornare dalla sua amata, dunque, si vede costretto ad ingannare Emily, ma la giovane defunta si ostina a voler condividere con lui la vita nell'oltretomba. Venuta a conoscenza dell’accaduto, Victoria cerca aiuto, ma nessuno le crede e la sua famiglia decide di darla in sposa a un nuovo pretendente, Lord Barkins. Intanto, Victor viene apprende la notizia delle nuove nozze dell’amata e decide di assecondare il desiderio di Emily, promettendo di bere un potente veleno e di sposarla veramente. Così, l’amore di Victor per Victoria, improvvisamente ostacolato dalla famiglia Everglot, metterà alla prova anche Emily, la quale si troverà a dover scegliere se soddisfare il suo desiderio più grande o aiutare i due amanti a ricongiungersi, dopo la terribile rivelazione su Lord Barkins.
