Our Godfather - La vera storia di Tommaso Buscetta, scritto e diretto da Mark Franchetti e Andrew Meier, è un documentario che analizza la figura di Tommaso Buscetta, il primo boss mafioso italiano a rivoltarsi contro Cosa nostra e a parlare ai magistrati dei legami politici dell'organizzazione. Dopo aver infranto il codice del silenzio testimoniando contro la mafia sia in Italia che negli Stati Uniti, Buscetta aiutò ad arrestare più di 400 criminali, divenendo ufficialmente l'uomo che tutti volevano uccidere. Le sue incredibili rivelazioni sui loschi affari del potente gruppo mafioso, tuttavia, costarono molto caro alla sua famiglia: 11 dei suoi familiari, infatti, persero la vita sotto i colpi di pistola di altri appartenti a Cosa nostra e il resto della suoi cari fu costretto a vivere in clandestinità, protetto dall’FBI e dalla DEA.Grazie a rare ed esclusive interviste, che comprendono le parole di Roberto Buscetta, figlio del boss, e della madre Cristina, lo speciale ricostruisce il percorso del più grande pentito della storia sin dai suoi primi legami con la mafia. Dalle interazioni con il mondo della politica e dell'imprenditoria, all'analisi dei volti noti e delle cariche, ai video inediti che raccontano della sua vita privata durante la latitanza, il documentario finirà per condurci fino al Maxiprocesso di Palermo, in cui furono stabiliti 19 ergastoli e pene detentive per un totale di 2665 anni di reclusione.
