Trama
Nel 1955, un estroso scienziato, Emmett Brown, detto Doc, e Marty McFly, un suo giovane amico, mentre sono intenti al recupero della "DeLorean", la prestigiosa "macchina del tempo", scoprono una tomba sulla cui lapide è ricordata l'uccisione di Emmett Brown avvenuta il 7 settembre del 1885 a Hill Valley. Per evitare la morte di Doc, Marty decide di viaggiare indietro nel tempo: giunge pertanto a Hill Valley il 2 settembre 1885 e scopre che Emmett Brown, un bizzarro maniscalco-scienziato del luogo, non solo si è attirato le ire del fuorilegge Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen ma si è anche innamorato dell'affascinante maestra Clara Clayton. Assunto il nome di Clint Eastwood, un temibile pistolero, Marty, dopo aver affrontato Mad Dog ed i suoi accoliti, riesce ad evitare la morte di Doc. Ora necessita ritornare nel futuro: poichè la "DeLorean" non è in grado di ripartire, Doc progetta di sospingerla a velocità vertiginosa con un locomotore lungo una linea ferrata. Dopo numerose peripezie e con l'aiuto di Doc e di Clara, Marty riesce a ritornare indenne nel futuro.
