Daniel Kandi è un produttore danese di trance/upliftin trance. Ha cominciato a produrre musica già dal 2000 sotto lo pseudonimo DJ Mendoza, all'epoca rilasciava i suoi lavori in una comunità virtuale di appassionati di musica, chiamata BandBase (MyMusic a quei tempi).
Nel 2003 crea il progetto Aurelius assieme ad un altro membro della community, Stalker (vero nome Anders Mikkelsen), con il quale nel 2005 produce la loro prima e unica traccia chiamata "Sorrow", con la collaborazione di Jamie P. e la voce di David Hughes.
Nel 2005 si unisce con Fritz Niko a formare i Weekend Wonderz, progetto con il quale produce principalmente remix, primo dei quali No Promises di Bryan Rice rilasciato nello stesso anno. I Weekend Wonderz sono stati nominati tre volte ai Danish Deejay Awards nella categoria "Danish remix dell'anno".
Il 2006 è l'anno della svolta, si dedica infatti alla produzione da solista e in giugno rilascia tramite la label Anjunabeats (capeggiata dagli Above&Beyond) la traccia Breathe: d'ora in poi produrrà principalmente sotto il suo vero nome, Daniel Kandi.
A gennaio del 2007 rilascia l'EP Child / Nova, ed entrambe la canzoni saranno poi scelte da Above&Beyond per far parte della compilation Anjunabeats Worldwide 01. Pochi mesi dopo, a luglio, pubblica il suo secondo EP Make Me Believe / I Found The Way; la prima traccia venne poi inclusa nella compilation Anjunabeats Volume 5 (Volumi 1-9 disponibili QUA). Child e Make Me Believe restano tuttora alcune delle sue migliori produzioni.
A novembre dello stesso anno Armin van Buuren sceglie Deep Psychosis (Daniel Kandi's Cure Mix) come traccia della settimana nell'episodio 326 del suo programma radiofonico settimanale A State of Trance, il brano sarà poi rilasciato il mese successivo.
Curiosità: a quanto pare Daniel Kandi è molto bravo anche a biliardo, in particolare nello snooker: ha infatti vinto per 5 volte consecutive (dal 2004 al 2009) il campionato nazionale danese in tale disciplina!
