- Trama -
Tratta dal romanzo The Wheel Spins di Ethel Lina White e Remake di La signora scompare (The Lady Vanishes) di Alfred Hitchcock (193 , è un giallo (non privo d\'un certo umorismo) ambientato nel 1939, alla vigilia del Seconda guerra mondiale.
Una dolce bambinaia inglese, Miss Froy (Angela Lansbury), in viaggio su un treno diretto a Basilea, sparisce misteriosamente; della cosa nessuno sembra accorgersi, sennonché una sua compagna di viaggio (Cybill Shepherd), che si è per caso trovata nel sedile accanto al suo, inizia a indagare sull\'accaduto insieme a un giornalista, americano come lei (Elliott Gould).
Scopriranno che la signora scomparsa era stata tenuta in ostaggio sul treno da un \"falso\" passeggero sin allora ritenuto sincero, poiché è diventata, suo malgrado, una spia e porta con sé un\'informazione che i nazisti vogliono bloccare a ogni costo finché il treno è in territorio tedesco.
