Tratta dall\'omonimo romanzo di Stephen King (in Italia Le notti di Salem), la miniserie narra le vicende di uno scrittore, Ben Mears (Rob Lowe) che, in seguito alla morte della moglie, torna nella cittadina in cui è cresciuto per indagare su un avvenimento misterioso che ha segnato la sua infanzia.
Ben si trova così ad investigare su alcuni strani eventi che stanno accadendo in città dopo l\'arrivo dell\'antiquario Straker (Donald Sutherland) e del suo datore di lavoro, lo sfuggente Kurt Barlow (Rughter Hauer), e con l\'aiuto di alcuni abitanti della cittadina cercherà di fermare il male che dilaga in città. Le Notti di Salem fu scritto da Stephen King nel 1975, riadattato poi nel 1979 per un omonimo film.
Ben Mears, a writer returns to the small Maine town of Jerusalem\'s Lot (also known as Salem\'s Lot), where he spent the first few years of his life, to write a book. Little does he or the townfolk realize that a couple of other new residents are coming...Straker, a antiques dealer, and his partner and master Barlow, a ancient and malevolent vampire bent on making Salem\'s Lot his new home.
