Terra Di Confine - Open Range, film diretto e interpretato da Kevin Costner, racconta una storia ambientata nel Far West, verso la fine dell’Ottocento. Siamo nel Montana: i cowboy Boss Spearman (Robert Duvall), Charley Waite (Kevin Costner), Mose Harrison (Abraham Benrubi) e Button (Diego Luna) sono quattro mandriani accomunati da un’amicizia basata sul rispetto, l’onore e la libertà.
Le loro esistenze scorrono tranquille tra le immense praterie dove pascolano indisturbati i loro greggi, finché un giorno arrivano per caso nella cittadina di Harmonville. Lì i cowboy incontrano il corrotto sceriffo Poole (James Russo) e il mandriano Denton Baxter (Michael Gambon), un mafioso tirannico che amministra la zona usando la violenza e la paura.
A quel punto i quattro mandriani si trovano costretti a dover lottare per i loro principi e la libertà di vivere a modo proprio. Tuttavia, in mezzo al tumulto, il solitario Charley farà un incontro inaspettato che gli cambierà per sempre la vita...
