Stanlio e Ollio cercano di dormire in una stanza d'albergo ma Ollio ha la tosse e la broncopolmonite e Stanlio russa. Entrambi hanno difficoltà ad addormentarsi e cercano in vari modi di rimediare al loro problema ma non fanno altro che creare caos nella stanza. Il proprietario del locale, infastidito del loro rumore, vuole cacciarli dall'albergo. Quando finalmente i protagonisti rientrano nel letto, il loro materasso ad aria si riempie accidentalmente di gas cominciando a gonfiarsi fino ad arrivare al soffitto. Proprio in quel momento entra nella stanza il proprietario dell'albergo insieme ad un poliziotto ma Ollio starnutisce facendo scoppiare il materasso e facendo cadere i vicini del piano sovrastante.
