Safe at Home, il primo full-lenght di Gram Parsons (e l'unico LP che avrebbe inciso con la International Submarine Band), oggi suona come una prova di quel country-rock che avrebbe poi perfezionato con i Byrds e i Flying Burrito Brothers ; è anche un grande cambiamento rispetto al pop/rock dalle sfumature psichedeliche dei singoli di debutto difficili da trovare della ISB.
